Opening batsman Yasodha Lanka struck s blistering match winning 62 off 44 balls smashing 5 sixes snd 3 boundaries as Chilaw Marians CC won over Police SC by 40 runs in their Sri Lanka Cricket Major Clubs T-20 cricket fixture played at the P. Saravanamuththu International Stadium yesterday.

Chilaw Marians taking first lease scored 178 for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Kasun Vidura also made a forceful 45 inclusive of 4 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Police SC was restricted to 138 for 9 by the tight as Chilaw Marians attack.
Chathuranga Jayatillaka top-scored for Police with 50 off 41 with 2 sixes and 2 boundaries.

Irushka Thimira was the Marians match winner with the ball taking 3 wickets for 7 runs with Chilaw Mariams Skipper Thanuka Dabare too was spot on with the ball with 2 wickets for 24 runs,

Meanwhile, NCC surged to the top of the points table following a superb 4-wicket win over Moors SC at the same venue.

Pace bowler Sampath Nishshanka had an impeccable 5 for 19 haul.
