Chilaw Marians Ravindu Rathnayake struck a record 10 sixes in a 27 ball 72 including 2 boundaries but could not prevent Ace Capital from winning by 63 runs on the DLS by dissmissing their opponents for 177 in 20.2:overs set a revised 241 off 24 overs having amassed 315 for 9 in their Sri Lanka Cricket Major Club Limited Overs Tournament fixture played at the Panadura Esplanafe yesterday.
Ace Caputal taking firdt lease ran up 315 for 9 off 50 overs on a top score of 90 off 87 with 9 boundaries and 3 sixes and 77 by Himasha Liyamage off 62 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes, 63 off 93 by Lahiru Dawatage with 4 boundaries and 41 by Raveen de Silva off 34 (3×4, 1×6).
The bowling performance of Ace Capital’s Nimesha Gunasinghe 6 for 23 as well as the Marians Lahiru Dawatage’s 5 for 44 in a valiant lost cause all round display on a score of 45 were also noteworthy features.
