Sri Lanka Women will be driven to lots of homework to maximising the batting, bowling and fielding following a disappointing lost Women’s home Tri Series to India that also South Africa in the fray.

The forerunner tournament to this year’s ICC Women’s ODI showpiece did show up weak link areas in the Lankan team badly beaten by a highly professional India in the finals by 97 runs despite having brought down the Indians in the second of their three exchanges.

While bleeding the high riding Indians in a high scoring affair in their second face off, the batting was the high point to overhauling the Indians tall score of 275 for 9 by 3 wickets on 278 for 7.

Importantly, Sri Lanka does have a potential batting cast from the top to start with Hasini Perera and Vidhmi Gunaratne with out of form regular opener skipper Chamari Athapaththu having come down the order with the center piece to the batting being No.3 Hardhitha a promising flamboyant run grafter as much as Kavisha Dilhari, both half century match winners with Nilskshika Silva proving to be a good pinch hitting fastest by a Lankan half century finish in that game.
However, the Indians came back strongly to settling it in the decisive final that took the wind out of the Lankans.
That bad defeat has reflected Sri Lanka Women have to brush up particularly to gaining the extra muscling. The batting has to be sharpened to compatible innings building while particularly the found wanting bowling and fielding will have to be gelled up.

Still hugely skipper Chamari Athspaththu will have to get back to her very best century scoring momentum to necessarily Sri Lanka facing the challenge of maximising their game over hundred per cent if they are to lay hands on the world cup.
