Sri Lanka A drew their first unofficial test match against Australia A with all-rounder Sonal Dinusha and Nuwanidu Fernando striking centuries in a high scoring game at the Marrara Oval which concluded yesterday July 19.
Dinusha, who made his test debut for Sri Lanka recently in the triumphant home test series, struck 105 in a Lankan score of 272 having batted first. His innings comprised 10 boundaries and a six.
Nuwanidu Fernando came up with his ton in Sri Lanka’s second innings scoring 104 off 218 balls striking 7 boundaries and 3 sixes as the Lankans did well to reach 280 for 3 wickets with skipper Pasindu Sooriyabandara and Pavan Rathnayake scoring 56 each.
Australia replied with a mammoth 486 with Liam Scott and Nathan McSweeney scoring 94 each respectively.
Dinusha had a fine match shining with the ball as well claiming 4 wickets for 97 runs.
Pramod Madushan took 3 for 82 though Nishan Peiris conceded 137 runs for his two wickets.
The second unofficial test between the two sides will commence tomorrow at the same venue.
