Explosive left hander Bhanuka Rajapaksa was at his brilliant best on Thursday smashing 62 off 30 balls, 50 of which in 5 sixes and 5 boundaries in Tamil Union’s quarter final total of 167 for 6 off 20 overs of the Sri Lanka Cricket Tier B Major Clubs T20 Tournament against NCC at the CCC Grounds on Thursday.
But Bhanuka ended on the losing side with the DLS coming to play in the rain affected DLS basis decided game with NCC reaching a revised target of 55 runs in 5 overs.
Meanwhile, CCC ousted BRC by 17 runs in the other quarter final to sauntering into the semi finals also on the revised DLS on a high of 179 for 6 off 20 overs with Nishan Madushka slamming 79 off 50 with 5 sixes and 3 boundaries that BRC struggling on 39 for 5 chasing a revised target of 57 off 5 overs.
CCCs Isuru Udana was the match winner with the ball with a 3 wicket take for 15 runs well supported by Nuwan Thushara 2 wickets for 13 at the P. Saravanamuththu International Stadium.
