Sri Lanka’s Nuwanidu Fernando struck back to back centuries on the opening day of the second unofficial test match against Australia A to reaching a healthy 263 for 4 wickets at the Marrara Oval in Darwin today July 21.
Taking strike at No 3, Fernando scored 102 off 234 balls hitting 2 boundaries and a six in a measured ininngs.
In the drawn second test he scored 104.
This time around he added 116 for the second wicket with opener Kamil Mishara who made 81 off 131 striking 9 boundaries after co-opener Lahiru Udara had been bowled by Liam Scott for 10 with the score 18 into the first ball of the eighth over.
Mishara was unfortunate to miss out on a century when he was out in horrid fashion as he fended evasively to a rearing bouncer going down on his knees as the ball flew to Kurtis Patterson at gully.
