The Moratuwa SC vs Navy SC fixture of the Sri Lanka Cricket U23 Emerging Clubs 2-day Tournament ended in a draw with Moratuwa taking first innings points on a higher first innings total of 287 as against their opponents 158 at Welisara during the week-end.
Moratuwa SCs Maneedndra Jayathilake stole the show in their drawn encounter versus Navy SC as he rattled 68, 52 of which were in 7 boundaries and 4 sixes while skipper Sahan Kawshalya starred in a superb all-round performance making 47 and claiming 5 wickets for 40 runs in the second innings in a Sri Lanka Cricket U23 Emerging Clubs 2-day Tournament week-end fixture.
Navy rallied their second innings to a healthy 244 for 9 wickets in holding their opponents to a draw, thanks to Dinosh Jelon Gamage who held one end with a solid 61 off 105 balls with 9 boundaries. Skipper Sumalka Fernando also rose to the occasion making 44 off 70 balls inclusive of 5 boundaries with lesser shares from Uvindu Perera 30, Ridma Colombage 23 and Hansaja Jayasingha 20.
However, Moratuwa SC obtained first innings points.
Moratuwa SC had lost one wicket for 6 runs in their second innings.
