Colombo North crowned themselves champions defeating Colombo South by 33 runs on the DLS in a rain marred final of the Sri Lanka Cricket U23 Youth League Tournament yesterday at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Colombo North batting first totaled 164 with Santhul Wijeratne striking 59.
Colombo South’s Rusandu Silva had a pleasing haul of 4 wickets for 16 runs despite ending on the losing side.
Colombo South’s chase of a DLS revised 167 for victory, took a good start reaching 105 for 4 wickets by the 17th over before Minuga Nethsara 4 for 37 and Lahiru Lakmal 3 for 26 put the spokes as the duo claimed seven Colombo South wickets between them with Shaveen Perera claiming 2 for 9.
