Casons Rent a Car, one of Sri Lanka’s leading family-owned car rental companies, has made history by introducing the country’s first-ever fleet of eco-friendly vehicles, setting a new benchmark for sustainable mobility in the transport and tourism sector.

Founder and Chairman M.C. Zakir Ahamed said the company has added a new range of vehicles designed to minimise environmental impact and reduce carbon emissions. The fleet includes fully electric vehicles (EVs) with zero tailpipe emissions, as well as hybrid and clean diesel models offering enhanced fuel efficiency and lower pollution levels.

Ahamed noted that customer demand for eco-friendly vehicles has been steadily increasing, driven by rising environmental awareness and the lower running costs of EVs.

“The shift to green mobility is not just a business decision — it’s an environmental responsibility,” he said. “We want to make sustainable transport affordable and accessible by offering special rental rates for our eco-friendly fleet.”

Casons Rent a Car, renowned for its service excellence, first expanded its footprint to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in 2017, where it operates a modern travel counter at the arrival terminal.

Ahamed also revealed that Casons has recently added Jaicoo electric cars to its lineup, available for rent at both the company’s Rajagiriya head office and the BIA counter, ensuring convenient access for local and international travelers alike.

Celebrating its 38th anniversary on November 5, Casons Rent a Car continues to lead innovation in Sri Lanka’s car rental industry. With the introduction of the country’s largest eco-friendly fleet, the company is reaffirming its commitment to building a cleaner, greener future for Sri Lanka’s mobility landscape.
