Veteran Angelo Mathews sounded Colts CC to a 7 wicket win over BRC in their Major League Clubs T20 Tournament fixture played at SSC grounds yesterday.
Mathews, who announced his retirement from test cricket few days back, was in good nick hammering 30 off 20 balls inclusive of 3 boundaries and a six as Colts romped to 74 for 3 in 11.1 overs in response to BRC’s 73 all out in 14.4 overs after Akila Dananjaya continued his superb form with his off spin this season with a 3 wicket haul or 18 runs well supported by pacer Dilshan Madushka 2 for 11 and Dhananjaya Lakshan 2 for 10.
The reliable Dunith Wellalage was in company with Mathews on an unbeaten on 18 off 22 hitting 2 boundaries in the wake of Sangeeth Cooray’s 18 upfront.
