Excon a prominent trade fair for the construction industry in South Asia held every two years in Bangalore, India will begin tomorrow with several Sri Lankan companies also participating.
Co Chairman of EXCON Deepak Shetty said that event held in 35 lakhs square foot open area provides a platform for construction equipment manufacturers, component suppliers, and service providers to showcase their products and services.
Most of the construction equipment manufactured in India are being exhibited here and Sri Lankan companies will have advantage in buying them as the climate is similar when deployed them in Sri Lanka.
He said that all several municipal councils in Sri Lanka including Colombo, Kandy and Galle have ordered Earth moving equipment along with garbage removal equipment from India knowing the cost advantage in purchasing them over other countries.
He also said that in Sri Lanka there’s a growing demand for agriculture from the private sector
The event is organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and is scheduled to be held between 9 – 13 December 2025 at BIEC, Bengaluru. It is expected to attract visitors from all over the world as well as from neighbouring countries.
He also said that India is on a historic growth and india is aiming to become a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047.
The construction equipment (CE) industry is committed to making India the second largest and fastest growing CE market globally targeting threefold expansion of US 25 billion on positioning the country as a global manufacturing an export hub.
“India also hope to beat China by 2030 and become the second largest construction equipment manufacturing market after USA.”
India CE sector achieved annual turnover of USD 10 billion in financial year 2025 with four black 40,000 units tools and export earnings exceed 13,000 units.
