Marking a significant milestone for the hospitality industry in the
Moratuwa–Panadura region, the Ramadia Grand Hotel has opened its doors as the area’s first four-star luxury property.
Developed by the Rodesha Group, the Ramadia Grand is the latest
addition to the group’s hospitality portfolio, which also includes the established Ramadia Ran Mal Resort.
Speaking at the launch, Rohan Fernando, Chairman of the Rodesha Group, said the new hotel aims to fill a longstanding gap in the region’s tourism infrastructure.
“Despite Moratuwa and Panadura being rich in attractions, the region has lacked accommodation options tailored for long-stay foreign travelers. The Ramadia Grand addresses this gap with unmatched scale and quality,” Fernando stated.
The property boasts 50 luxury rooms, including five suites. It also
features the area’s only rooftop swimming pool and an 11-story
structure offering panoramic views of the sea and lagoon.
A key highlight is its pillarless grand banquet hall, the largest in
the area, with capacity for over 1,500 guests. The hotel also offers
three additional banquet and conference halls, each accommodating up
to 400 guests, positioning it as a premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives,
Conferences, and Exhibitions) venue.
Fernando noted that the Ramadia Grand has created over 160 employment
opportunities and has already received an overwhelming global response
through international travel agents, with strong forward bookings
reported.
“This hotel is more than just a luxury property — it’s a catalyst for
regional tourism. We are proud to help position Moratuwa as a
destination capable of attracting high-end international travelers,”
he added.
Dining and leisure amenities include a rooftop restaurant with seating
for 100 guests, a nightclub with sweeping views, and curated
excursions to nearby attractions. Guests can also enjoy unique
experiences such as lagoon-side dining aboard Ran Mal-owned yachts.
With its modern design, extensive facilities, and strategic location,
the Ramadia Grand Hotel is poised to elevate Moratuwa and Panadura
into the spotlight of Sri Lanka’s evolving hospitality landscape.
