Sri Lanka’s national selectors have announced a strong 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup starting on September 30.
Veteran all-rounder Chamari Athapaththuj will once again lead the side after she was named captain, with the experienced trio of Harshitha Samarawickrama, Nilakshika de Silva and Anushka Sanjeewani to provide her with plenty of support.
The side carries plenty of experience for the showpiece event with several young players having sprung up in a fruitful team building process initiated by Sri Lanka Cricket in the last few years by a grassroots level talent fine combing drive.
