Panadura SC thrashed defending champions NCC by 48 runs in the first semi-final at the CCC Grouns in a rain
affected DLS dictate to blazing into the finals of the Sri Lanka Cricket driven Major Clubs T20 Tournament yesterday
with 20-year old opening batsman Vishen Halambage smashing 55 runs off 26 balls with 4 over the top and 5 across to emerging the new batting discovery across this tournament in a fine form run.
Taking first lease, Panadura SC rattled up 165 for 7 in their 20 overs to the foundation for its bowlers corralling the
strong NCC batting department to 74 for 7 in 13 overs in a rain hit DLS revised 123 target.
Led by Dushan Hementha, Panadura’s Nimesh Vimukthi added the tempo by a 43 off 36 scorching knock with
Hementha’s 21 off 19 cashing on the NCC attack.
Panadura SCs bowlers then wrapped it up spearheaded by Vishwa Lahiru 3 for 14 and Senitha Halambage and
Dushan Hementha 2 wickets apiece.
Sunday’s final between Panadura SC and CCC, will be played under lights at the same venue.
