Nipun Dhananjaya unbeaten 73 for Galle

Colombo and Sri Lanka white ball captain, Skipper Charith Asalanka smoked 151 off Galle in a drawn Sri Lanka Cricket National Super League fixture yesterday at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

Asalanka was in his characteristic explosive element in a 206-ball domination of the Galle attack before spin prodigy Dunith Wellalage saw him off caught by Dinesh Chandimal.

But Colombo’s Pramod Madushan continued the good work of 45 off 72 reaching the boundary twice and one to the stands with Nishan Peiris chipping in with 25 off 53 balls striking 2 boundaries.

Nipun Dhananjaya was Galle’s second innings hero stroking an undefeated 73 off 113 coloured by 9 boundaries to an unfinished 74-run fourth wicket pairing with Santhush Gunathilake who was on 28 off 68 smashing a six and boundary.
