Negombo CCs Shehan Pramod stole the limelight during the Sri Lanka Cricket U23 Emerging Clubs Limited Overs week-end matches running riot with the ball for astonishing match haul of 15 wickets in thrashing Leo CC by 120 runs at Air Force Grounds, Katunayake.
Pramod claimed 7 wickets for 43 runs in dismissing Leo CC for 141 and went one better reaping 8 for 50 in sending Leo CC tumbling for 108 a second time chasing a target of 228 to win.
Negombo CC scored 217 and on 152 for 4 in their second turn having led Leo CC by 76 runs on the first innings to setting a target of 228 to chase.
The game also saw Negombo CC skipper Kaveen Fernando revel striking back to back half centuries opening the batting. He scored 52 off 80 balls with 6 boundaries and a six and an unbeaten 64 off 76 balls filled with 6 boundaries and 2 sixes while Lester Jayaweera turned out to be a cameo showman smashing 43 off 19 balls powered by 5 sixes and a boundary in a second innings 152 for 4 declared.
